GPS tracking for travel & tourism

Tracking visitor’s behavior in time and space has great potential. GPS tracking could offer a solution when it comes to understanding the actual visitor journey geographically speaking. As part of the Data & Development Lab, we establish a systematic comparison between the strengths and weaknesses of GPS tracking devices and methods together with CELTH, NBTC and CBS. This will be based on an experiment in practice focusing on financial, organisational, social, legal and technical aspects. In this project we focus on GPS tracking via a purpose-made GPS tracking device and smartphone mobile applications with a GPS tracking function.

This research project is still running.
